Terms of Service

Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of the Protu platform operated by Protu Technology Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. By accessing or using the platform, you agree to these terms.

If you are using Protu on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

Definitions

  • Platform — the Protu web application and all related services
  • Workspace — your organisation's account on the platform
  • User — anyone who accesses the platform through a workspace
  • Content — any data, text, or information submitted to or generated by the platform
  • Insights — behavioural profiles and intelligence generated from assessments

Account and Access

You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials and for all activity under your account.

We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have violated these terms or are using the platform in a way that could harm other users or the platform itself.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Protu only for its intended purpose: understanding team dynamics, developing talent, and making informed people decisions. You must not:

  • Use insights to discriminate against individuals based on protected characteristics
  • Use the platform to make fully automated hiring or termination decisions without human review
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, or extract the underlying models or algorithms
  • Share assessment links or insights with unauthorised third parties
  • Use the platform in any way that violates applicable law

Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you submit to the platform. We process your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from employees and candidates before inviting them to complete assessments. You must inform them about how their data will be used.

Insights and Outputs

Insights generated by Protu are intended as decision-support tools, not as definitive assessments of individuals. They should be used alongside professional judgement, not as a replacement for it.

While we strive for accuracy, insights are based on probabilistic models and should not be treated as absolute truths about any individual.

Billing and Payment

Team and Organisation plans can be billed monthly or annually as selected at the time of purchase; Enterprise is billed annually. Prices are based on the coverage you bring into scope — the employees and teams Protu understands — not per user seat, and are exclusive of VAT where applicable.

We may change pricing with 30 days' written notice. Price changes take effect at the start of the next billing period. If you do not agree with a price change, you may cancel before the next billing period.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through workspace settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.

Upon cancellation, you may export your data for 30 days. After this period, data is deleted in accordance with our retention policy.

Intellectual Property

The platform, including its models, algorithms, interface, and documentation, is the intellectual property of Protu Technology Limited. These terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited licence to use the platform.

You grant us a limited licence to process your data solely for the purpose of providing the service.

Availability and Support

We aim for 99.9% platform availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance windows are communicated in advance.

Support is provided via email at support@protu.io. Response times depend on your plan level.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Protu Technology Limited is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunity.

Our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the platform is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify Protu Technology Limited against any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes require email notification at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of the platform are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
